Julius Curry Teams with TMR Engineering to Host Open House
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Julius Curry, owner of Julius Curry Racing, has teamed up with Louis Milone from TMR Engineering to host a Open House on Saturday, April 20 in Boca Raton, Florida. Curry and Milone are partnering with the Florida Atlantic University Urban Male Initiative to give students who are interested in the motorsports industry a behind the scenes look at the industry with the possibility for summer internships and possible employment.
The partnership seeks to give college students the opportunity to lean about IMSA, race team development, sponsorship, marketing and promotions, communications along with pit crew training, engineering, club racing and sales. Training in these areas will provide them the opportunity to enter into the motorsports industry with proper training and experience from leaders in the industry.
As the partnership grows the goal is to create a pipeline of students that are interested in all facets of the industry to serve in various capacities through summer internships which will leader to careers within the industry. The pair also hope to expand the partnership to include summer track days, driver development training and pit crew challenges.
JC Racing is not new to NASCAR racing. Back in 2006, Julius Curry Racing, previously known as Curry Racing, entered the NASCAR truck series at Daytona International Speedway.
February 17, 2006 -- DAYTONA, FL - Curry Racing, Inc. owned and created by former NFL star Julius Curry has announced an alliance with Montgomery Motorsports, Inc to run a limited schedule in the NASCAR Truck Series in 2006. Curry Racing, Inc. is the first and youngest African American owned NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team in NASCAR history is also planning on participating in selected races in the Busch Series.
The unveiling of this pioneering effort will take place at the Daytona International Speedway, today, Friday February 17, 2006. The starting flag will be at 8:30PM and driving for the Curry Racing, Inc is Chase Montgomery
